First Flight

Thomas, Marianne, and William got to experience their first flight last month, thanks to the Young Eagles program. We found a Young Eagles pilot in Idaho Falls and scheduled an appointment. 


First, the pilot gave everyone a quick run-down on how airplanes work. This really was nothing new for Thomas. In fact, as soon as he saw the plane he knew what it was and named it immediately. If I could even remember I would write it, but I don't because I have other obsessions. 

You have to be between the ages of 8 and 18, so the rest of us just watched.

You can't really tell, but Thomas is just bursting with excitement here. He has waited a long time for this day.

And, I suppose these two were pretty excited as well.

Afterwards, these two got to try out the plane. Sometimes, pretending is just as fun as the real thing.

What do you think? Christmas card worthy? No?
