Disneyland Day 2

When we arrived at Disneyland the second day, we were welcomed with rain. We started our day with some rides at California Adventure. This is where I discovered my favorite ride, Soarin' over California. We also went on the Grizzly Bear Run, which had no line. I guess nobody thought it would be fun riding a wet ride in the rain. However, I thought it was smart to go on a wet ride while already wearing a poncho. After the first couple hours, the rain stopped and the rest of the day was perfect.

First picture of the day. Apparently, Disney has plans to build another section onto the park dedicated to the movie Cars.

Pictured below on the Tower of Terror ride are; Marianne, me, Sarah, and Thomas on the left side in the middle. This ride was pretty freaky for me since I have a reoccurring nightmare that I am in a falling elevator.

Carousel pictures are always fun. I took these while Richard and Thomas were riding California Screamin'.
Richard took these next two pictures while Marianne and I were riding California Screamin'.

One of the highlights of the trip was the Jedi Training Academy. Richard and the boys managed to hit the last show, and the girls and I rode Nemo and came after it started. Luckily, we didn't miss too much. Basically, they "train" random kids from the audience to fight Darth Vader and Darth Maul. It's quite a show and the characters are very realistic with the voices and everything. (Finally, characters that actually spoke!) Any Star Wars fan would love this. When we took the three older kids in '07, we saw the show, but none of our kids were picked. I was thrilled when we got there and both William and James were on stage!!! Of course, I immediately clamored to find a suitable place to take pictures and video. James especially got a lot of attention, probably because he was one of the youngest. The audience really clapped and cheered for him. He was the first to fight Darth Vader. William got to fight Darth Maul.

Below are the videos of James and William

Sarah fast asleep at the hotel with her souvenir from Disneyland. She picked the first bunny she saw and couldn't have been happier. In fact, Richard said, "They probably don't sell as many Thumper's as they do other stuffed animals." (Assuming that the Bambi characters aren't as popular.) Sarah overheard and responded with, "Well, they sold this one!"

Our two days at Disneyland were very memorable, but that's not all. More to come...
