My baby has turned six years old. Well, in October. I'm a little behind here. Anyway, I thought I'd better document the events of the day in case I start to wonder when and how all this growing up occurred. I'm sure when he turns 12 I'm going to think to myself, "Wait...how can James be 12? He never even turned six!!!" Now I'll have proof and I won't have to wonder if I'm going crazy. Or if someone has come in my room while I was asleep and erased half of my memories. Although, I already wonder this, sometimes more than once a day... And, I think Richard does too. Yeah, it's pretty bad.
Anyway, here he is on his birthday morning. These gumballs are from his best bud, Sugar. (Refer to my last post, "Fantastic Fall.") Isn't that monkey around the gumball the most adorable thing? I really wanted to save it, but James had a better idea. It was devoured within just a few minutes. Good thing I had my camera ready when I did! Thanks, Sugar!!! The gumballs lasted at least TWO days! Amazing.
That night, Will and Rachel were there to watch him open a few more presents.
This is the exact cake I made for him two years ago. Or was it last year?
He really wanted it again.
He really wanted it again.
James is just growing so fast, but I still pick him up and haul him around like a baby several times a day. And he still likes to climb on me and and give me big hugs and kisses. He's huge and heavy, but he's all I've got! Do you think he'll still let me pick him up and haul him around when he's 17?

When he's 17, he'll be able to pick YOU up and haul YOU around! Yes, they grow up all too fast.
