Whirlwind Part 5: William's Birthday

William turned the big double-digit 10 on December 13th. He was born just after we moved into our current home which means we have lived here just over 10 years.
Wow.

Back to William's birthday...

Based on the pictures above, can you tell he likes to build things? He also wanted a santa hat really bad. I guess that's the kind of thing you ask for when your birthday is right before Christmas.?.

The Cake. Or, cupcakes rather.

*Warning* - I am about to brag a little. ;)
William brings so much creativity to our home, and he's very persistent on the piano. In the past few months, he has taken it upon himself to learn the Revolutionary Etude by Chopin. This is a hard piece. But, I didn't want to discourage him when he first told me he wanted to learn it, so I told him to go ahead and learn it measure at a time - slowly. I didn't help him with it much, (I figured he'd probably give up after a while, like I probably would.) but before we knew it, he was playing it! At first, just a few measures. Now he has learned about three pages! Good thing he doesn't take after me. He also loves to write comics and poems, and he's very good at drawing. Here is poem he wrote just the other night:

I'm rich! I'm rich!
I'm really rich!
I found a treasure chest!
I dug it up inside a ditch,
Oh man, this is the best!
I really hope it's not a crime.
Oh, look inside.
It's just a dime.

Thanks for making our lives so delightful, William! We love you!
