June

June is always a busy month with music camp being foremost on our minds. But, besides planning for camp and practicing every spare second we had for two upcoming performances (not including our music camp performance), June was quite uneventful. School was out, and I was enjoying not getting up in the wee hours of the morning to get the kids off to school. The weather was finally showing signs of summer and life was pretty good.

We had our last Rexburg Tabernacle Orchestra concert which both Thomas and Marianne participated in, but I didn't get any pictures. Darrell Brown has been our conductor since Kevin Call has been on a mission. Darrell went to Ricks College the same time Richard and I were there. Who would have thought?

The kids and I served Richard all of his favorite food for Father's Day breakfast.

Every once-in-a-while I am amazed that we still have Peter. I figured our first official family pet wouldn't last much more than a few months. Well, in June, Peter had been around for three years! He's been a great pet, and Sarah still loves him just as much as the day we got him.

Thomas had the amazing opportunity to attend a regional LDS encampment in Shelley, Idaho to celebrate 100 years of scouting. I believe there were approximately 10,000 scouts and leaders there. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Here's a picture of him at the music store having just returned. (I was headed to the store when I passed him and the other boys at a leader's house, so I snatched him and took him with me.) Here he is showing off his blister. There was no shade, and he got sunburned pretty bad despite having used sunscreen. (Or so he says...)

And finally, our string quartet had our annual performance in the Spori Art Gallery at BYU-I. We performed the Tchaikovsky String Quartet no. 1 and the Mozart "Hunt" quartet. Fun as always. I had Marianne snatch this as we warmed up before the performance.
