In 2008, Richard gave me a new camera for Christmas. A Cannon G10. It's pretty much been glued to me ever since. It's not a fancy SLR, but it still takes great pictures, and it's not too big so it doesn't get in the way. Since I got the camera, I have taken a lot more pictures. (In case you haven't noticed.) I've been working my way through the 300+ page manual, and have probably read at least 1% of it... :P Last month I took a little photography class. We just met 3 times for an hour and a half. I was able to learn more about shutter speed, aperture, and ISO among other things. I get so excited when I take a good picture, even if I have to take 50 pictures to get that one. So, I've been experimenting a little lately and would like to share with you some of the pictures I have taken.
Asparagus. Boring, I know.
One of my Mom's Barbie dolls. I was focusing in on the poodle bag.
Paints. Just the way my kids left them.
I took all of these using the macro function on my camera. And, for those familiar with Pioneer Woman's photo contests, I did enter these. I knew they wouldn't win anything - I mean thousands of people enter these contests and most of them are pro's. It's fascinating to see the other entries, however. Such great pictures! Someday...
