Wrapping Up 2011

Christmas was not the finale in our December celebrations. Surprised? Well, Richard's dear mother turned 80 on December 16, but we had her big birthday bash after Christmas when more family could attend. (There were also two weddings in the family between Christmas and New Years.) It was nice to see so many Ferguson's. I feel bad we can't see many of them more often. I just love Richard's family. All...50...no...70?...no...tons of them! I took a few pictures of the crowd, but they didn't turn out well. So, here's the two that did.

And my sweet mother-in-law. She is such a wonderful woman. A saint, I often say. Loving, selfless, endearing. Really, all who know this lady love her. I admire her for raising 14 children, and will ever be grateful that she didn't stop at 13. :)

James built this Mack Lego set he got for Christmas and wanted me to take a picture, of course. How can you resist this cute face?

I thought this was pretty cute. James wanted to join Richard and I in a game of Boggle, so we gave him some paper and a pencil and told him to try to find small words and write them down. When he said he was finished, but the hourglass was still going, I said, "No, keep looking and maybe you'll find more!" (At this point, I wasn't paying attention to anything he had written since I was only focused on finding more words than Richard.) He said, "But, I already wrote them all!" It wasn't until I finally looked at what he had done that it clicked. Haha!

Marianne's New Year's Resolutions. Although, they should be mine. How bad is it when your own daughter shows you up?

Sarah Update: Sarah has serious tooth issues. Once her bottom two teeth came in, they started digging a hole in the gums of the roof of her mouth. (Yeah, it was gross.) It didn't seem to bother her much unless a crumb of food got stuck in the hole. When we took her to the orthodontist, he said we would need to get four of her teeth pulled to make room for teeth coming in. (Along with multiple other problems.) Then, as soon as they are in, she would need braces. Ugh. Poor girl. Poor...our bank account! But, she still loves her Peter rabbit, and we love her...crazy teeth and all!
PS. Some of these photos were probably taken in January. Maybe I would remember if I wasn't so behind! :O
