Precious Moments
There was a time in my life (high school and college) that I loved and collected Precious Moments figurines. I loved their, well, precious little faces. I still do. But, after I was married, I had to save my money for toilet paper and food. I guess food should come first. (Okay, bad joke. I get that from Richard!) Anyway, I just stopped collecting them. Now that I think about it, I also had a spoon collection, of all things. Why would a person want to collect spoons anyway? You can’t even eat with them. What it all comes down to is this: I have become way too practical in my married-with-children life! Here are some things I collect nowadays: Food. Coupons - for food, of course. Laundry. Legos. Wait, those are for the boys, not me, so I guess that doesn’t count. But, I think it should, because I step on them all the time. Cleaning supplies of all sorts and varieties. Dust. Bills. Dirty socks and shoes, which are generally strung all across the house at any given moment. And, let me just say, it seems one of our children is always in need of some type of shoes, yet I swear we have enough for our whole neighborhood of children. It just doesn’t add up! Recipes. Receipts. Mountains & Strings t-shirts. I attempt to collect money, but as soon as I do, it’s gone again. So, as you can tell, my days of collecting random, cute…well…STUFF, are gone! Who knows if they will ever come back!?!

What a fun blog! I've had so much fun reading your posts - you are a really good writer. Hope you and your family are doing well. Your kids are growing up!

ReplyDeleteYay! So good to hear from you! :)
Really great post. I need to be more like you. I still try and collect the pretty impractical things and then I just feel quilty. Funny too that I use to collect those figurines. I don't even know where they are now. I love the tree memory idea. Really cute blog.
