FHE Visitor

On Monday evening, we were just having our routine family home evening lesson, when suddenly someone showed up at our door. It was Natalie. She works at our music store and plays violin and viola beautifully. She is also one of the nicest people ever! Richard had invited her over, unbeknownst to us. What a nice surprise!

But, there was more.

She was holding something. And it moved. Could it be...???

A PUPPY!!!

This may not seem strange to some - Richard inviting someone over who has just accquired a new little puppy. And, actually inviting the puppy as well. But, some do not know Richard very well either. It's not that Richard is an animal-hater by any means. He just prefers to keep his distance.

The kids, on the other hand, couldn't get close enough!

Then Richard just had to go and surprise us all again! The cute little thing just kept wandering over to his leg with those...well...puppy dog eyes, and Richard just couldn't resist.

 Nope, no resistance whatsoever.

His main concern was the dog's bum. He didn't want any part of himself to get near it.

But, after only a few seconds, he had warmed right up to her. (Abby is her name - did I spell that right?)

Of course, the kids know their Father well. Once they could see that Dad might actually enjoy holding this puppy, they realized they may never get another turn. (Dad can be possesive that way.) But, sometimes the kids can out-smart him, which is just what one of them did.

"Dad, the dog is peeing on you!"

It worked!

Even when Abby was all packed up and ready to go, the kids STILL couldn't get enough.

And poor Natalie had a heck of a time getting out of there.

But, she finally did, much to her relief, I am sure!

Thank you, Natalie, for letting us play with Abby! The kids say she is invited over any time. ;)

By the way, James JUST informed us all that his little brown stuffed doggy's name is now Abby.
