Girl's Night Out

The weekend after school started, our ward held a Father/Children Campout. When they made the announcement for this in Sacrament Meeting, they ordered Mom's to stay home. Although I love camping with my family, I wasn't complaining. This was an opportunity to have a girl's night out! So, my Mom and my sister's-in-law met at the Farmer's Market and shopped around, and ate corn on the cob on sticks, Italian bread, and fudge. Of course, those were just appetizers to the Thai food we ordered to go. We considered going to a movie, but we decided it would be more fun to visit. So, we took the food to Mom's and played the card game 3-13. (We let Dad join in and listen to our "girl" talk.) At around midnight, we headed home. I am pretty sure this was the first time since I have been married, that I have slept overnight in an empty house. I wouldn't like this long-term, but for one night, it was quite nice! No one was there to steal the covers (I actually remember waking up at one point HOT!) and I didn't wake up stiff, squished between James and Sarah who love to climb in bed with us. This was a great way to bring in the school year. In fact, I think this should become a yearly tradition. Thanks Becky, Jeana, Nicole, and Mom!
