Weekend In Utah

So, for Richard's birthday, I bought tickets to see Jim Gaffigan in Salt Lake. For those who don't know who this is, (surprisingly, NOT a violinist) you are missing out. Maybe we just have weird taste, but this guy makes us laugh until our faces fall off! Well, not really, but you know what I mean. Since it turned out to be the weekend of the Relief Society general meeting, I was able to go to that as well with my friend, Amanda Brighton, who scored me a ticket. Wonderful weekend! Here are some pictures of some of the fun stuff we got to do with NO kids!

Here we are right before the Jim Gaffigan show. Unfortunately, we couldn't take a picture of Jim himself. :(

Our first stop Saturday morning was to Peter Prier's shop in Salt Lake. Here we had the privledge of visiting with our good friend and former employee, Callie. Luckily, we taught her everything she needed to know at Ferguson Music to be able to land this job at Peter's. Just kidding. She was already amazing. We miss her! She took Richard and I to the back of the store, and we got to play on a Stradivarius violin made in 1718.

A beautiful instrument. This particular one is priced at 8 million. A gem indeed!

Here are the three of us after a wonderful lunch at Cafe Rio. Thanks, Callie!

Our next stop was to see my brother, Ryan and his family. Alyse had a beautiful baby boy near the beginning of summer, and we FINALLY had the opportunity to see the little guy (Spencer). Here is Alyse, Katie, and Spencer.

My goofy brother, Ryan. :) But, I do have to say, for being a little goofy, he has a great family! It was great to visit with them for a while!

After a mad rush, we made it to the conference center just in time to get my ticket and seat to the Relief Society general meeting. IT WAS WONDERFUL! This was my first time attending a conference in the actual conference center. And, my first time seeing President Monson as our prophet in person. What a beautiful spirit that was there! LOVED IT! :) Thank you, Amanda for the ticket! Poor Richard just wandered around Salt Lake City all by himself during this time. Thanks sweetie. ;) What a great weekend!!!

  1. How fun to have a weekend with NO kiddos! :) You'll have to let me know next time you make it down this way so we can get together...it's been too long!

  2. That looks like it was a fun weekend, and cool that you got to see the Relief Society broadcast! Being in a different time zone makes it a little hard because it didn't start until 8 and I was so tired!
