A Rare Moment of Silence

Bedtime is always a trick. With three boys in one room, and two girls in the other, it's almost impossible to get them settled and asleep in under an hour. We try to get them down by about 8:00, and that is just when the action starts! They get out of bed for various reasons, goof off, get sudden cases of dehydration, and have to go pee several times. They read, they fight, they play, they are loud...the list goes on. How nice it would be if they actually just went to sleep at 8:30 instead of 10:00! What's a Mom to do? I'm still trying to figure it out.

Well, a few nights ago, they surprised us. We put them to bed, and it was...drumroll...QUIET! This isn't always a good sign, so we went to check on them, and this is what we saw:

It seemed like we heard a quiet voice muttering something. So, we peeked inside...

Thomas??? Reading to the other kids??? Peacefully??? I just had to get a picture. This may only happen once. I guess in a cool fort, ANYTHING is fun! They weren't asleep, of course. I mean, lets be realistic. But, this is about as close as it gets!
