Richard's Birthday!

Here are some pictures of the most recent holiday in our home: Richard's 33rd birthday. I say holiday because that is pretty much how the children treat birthdays around here. Richard commented to me a day or two before that he would just like to forget his birthday. No such luck. Not with our kids! They were making cards the day before, and talking about it with as much excitement in their voices as they have on Christmas Eve! That afternoon, while Richard was teaching, the kids and I went shopping to find him some of his favorite things: rapberry-filled doughnuts, Premium Creamies, etc. Don't worry, we didn't JUST get junk food. We surprised him with the 6th season of Little House on the Praire. And, I surprised him with tickets to see Jim Gaffigan on the 25th of September! (This gift was, of course, as much for me as it was for him. I love those kinds of gifts.)

Blowing out his candle on his cookies n' cream ice cream cone. He isn't a huge fan of cake, but he LOVES ice cream cones. Easy for me! :)
The following evening, we had some friends and family over for a bigger celebration. Here are a few pictures of some of the guests.
Sarah, James, Marianne, and Abram
My Mom and brother, Trev
Richard's Mom and my sister-in-law, Jeana
Lance, Becky, and Abram
Richard's Dad and his sister, Melissa
Sorry, I didn't get pictures of everyone, but you get the idea. We had a great evening, and we stayed up way too late playing Conqueror's with our good friends, Russ and Amanda. Hopefully, turning 33 wasn't too bad. Thanks Sweetie, for allowing us to 'not forget' about your birthday. We all love you SO MUCH!!! :)
