Next Time, I'm-a Gonna Win!

For Christmas this year, Richard surprised us all with a Wii. My personal gift was Wii-fit plus. I have wanted this for a long time, but it doesn't really work without a Wii. Obviously. So in order for Richard to really surprise me, he had to surprise the whole family. (darn!) The Wii has, for the most part, been fun for all. I set a goal to work out with Wii-fit at least a 1/2 hr. a day, and I am pleased to announce that I am still going strong. And, I love it by the way. (I didn't exercise at all before, so this is pretty big news!) And, the kids know they have to finish their chores and practicing before they can play, which means they actually get done! Ya-hoo!

One of the games we have is called Super Mario Bros. Wii, and it's a hoot! A souped-up version of the old Super Mario Bros., but instead of players taking turns, everyone (up to 4 players) plays all at once. Four characters bouncing all over and on top of each other through each level make quite the comical riot! It was an instant family favorite. But then, there are the "Yoshi" levels. Anyone who has played Mario knows that Yoshi is the little dino-like creature you get to ride around on. Yoshi even eats the bad guys for you, AND the other players. (Mwahaha!) Quite often, you get knocked off your Yoshi and have to chase after him and hop back on before you lose him, he falls in a hole, or another player steals him. Sarah happens to be a huge fan of Yoshi; her favorite little character of all time. If Yoshi existed in real life, I am sure we would have to own one for a pet. Several nights ago, Richard, William, Marianne, and Sarah were playing a Yoshi level, and this is how Sarah reacted to losing her Yoshi. (They had already gone on to a different level when I took the video, but you know how girls like to hang on to their sorrows way too long.)

(You will definitely need to pause the music at the bottom for this one. Sorry!)

I also attempted to post it all in one video, but Blogger doesn't like to upload big videos, so I divided it into four so you can still grasp the seriousness of her situation.

I especially like how William tries to encourage her by being so positive.

And these videos still only make up about half of the original. It went on for a while, until I'd had my fun, and I put her to bed. Poor thing - her Mom exposing her like this. We just adore her though, tears and all. She is such a doll!

When I showed Sarah this, she just laughed and laughed. She doesn't really act like this all the time, but it was getting late and I think she was pretty tired. 99% of the time, we don't cry or fight while playing the Wii. Okay, 90% of the time. Well, alright...realistically it would probably be about 75% of the time...maybe. ;)

  2. Hey - We do the same thing - get the jobs done and you can play video games. It especially helps in the piano practising area. Kids are getting cuter everyday. Keep on exercising!!
