Another Performance

This is how my archive list looks - performance, birthday, performance, birthday, etc. And, it ain't over yet! Also in December was the middle school orchestra concert which both Thomas and Marianne performed in. First of all, can I just say that this school string program is HUGE!!! There wasn't enough room in the brand new high school auditorium for all the parents and families. We got there about a half hour early and sat three rows from the back. Lots of people had to stand. Good thing my camera has a pretty good zoom! Here's a picture of just the 5th grade orchestra.

And, here is Marianne in her cute polka dot dress (thank you, Nicole) with NO music. Yup, she forgot it and so did her stand partner, so they played the entire concert memorized! She fooled me! I didn't know until she told me the next day. In passing. "Oh, by the way, we didn't have any music at the concert last night..." What? She totally takes after her FATHER!

And, here is Thomas (head turned away) with the 6th grade orchestra. I took the picture lengthwise so I could sneak his cousin, Ashley in there. She's directly above him playing viola. 

It's fun to listen to the orchestra and the progress they make from year to year. Thomas and Marianne have really enjoyed being in the orchestra at school. And, kudos to Doug Hansen for being able to handle such enormous groups of crazy middle-schoolers so well!
