Thomas is TWELVE for crying out loud!!!

It's astonishing, isn't it? I have a 12-yr-old. He was ordained a deacon on his birthday, and passed the sacrament for the first time (and to our family first) this last Sunday. It was weird to see him standing in line with all those deacons. I actually did the math in my head to make sure he really was 12. You know, like, maybe we accidentally skipped a year in there... It could happen. But, we didn't. He really is 12 - that little stinker! And, he will be going to the temple on Thursday (Dec. 30) to do baptisms for the dead. Really, it is pretty neat. And, I think he really is turning into a wonderful, handsome, young man. And, that's not just the mother in me talking. Okay, maybe it is. I can still remember well the day he was born. They put him in my arms and I looked lovingly into his big, wide eyes full of curiosity. Then, he peed all over me. A moment I will always treasure.

Anyway, here is a picture of Thomas with my handsome husband about a month ago, or so:
He looks like such a baby, doesn't he?
And, so does Thomas.

Oh, wait... Never mind.

And, this is a picture of Thomas on his 12th birthday. It's amazing what can happen in such a short amount of time.

We had a family party with the Ferguson's later in the evening. We were also celebrating Grandma Ferguson's birthday which was on the 16th. I provided Thomas with one of his favorite desserts, Tres Leches cake. It's yummy! If you haven't tried it, you must! I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pictures. :(

A few days after his birthday, he had a party with some friends at The Craze. They played lazer tag and had a blast!

We love having Thomas in our home...well, most of the time. ;) We learn so much from him, and despite the denial I seem to be going through about his turning 12, I know he has been prepared and is ready to hold the Aaronic Priesthood. We are grateful for his good choices, and desire to do what's right. We love you, Thomas!
