Still My Baby

James turned 5 years old on Oct. 17. I know, some people think that five is a pretty big number. Especially the five-year-old. But, he's somehow still my baby. I can't really explain it. He just is. Not that I'm announcing that James is our last. Not that I'm announcing that we will be having more. Anyway, he's my baby right now, even if he IS a "big" five-year-old.

He's really not that big to me. But, don't tell him I said that.
I can still hold him, after all. And, he still loves it when I hold him. So, he's still a baby, right? Have you ever read the book, "Love You Forever"? I remember my 5th grade teacher reading it to us, and she bawled. I didn't get it. But, I do now. It's like we Mom's go into denial. We don't want to believe that our baby is really growing up. *sniff* I try not to think about it.
Anyway, here are some pictures of my baby James on his birthday.

I would like to thank Howdini.com for this cake. Growing up, my mother always made the most beautiful cakes for our birthdays, but in that area I have just completely failed. But, now thanks to the internet and step-by-step videos for creative "dummy's" such as myself, I can now feel cool. Sort-of.

I would also like to thank Howdini for providing me with a quiet, peaceful Sunday morning while my children watched one "how-to" cake video after another. Even my BOYS were totally intrigued. Hey, they don't call it "Howdini" for nothing.

Handsome little guy.

Well, that's one way to blow out your candles!
We are so grateful to have James in our lives. He brings to us so much energy and so many laughs each day. Thanks, James. Like I always say,
"I loves my James!" (No making fun. He's my BABY!)
