When it comes to holidays, it can be really nice to live close to family, especially when weather conditions are less than desirable. Many people had to cancel their original plans due to some very stormy weather. (We missed you Ryan and Alyse!) However, if it weren't for the storms, I wouldn't have the adorable pictures of Will and Rachel below. So, at least some good came out of it!
I had to get two pictures of my niece, Lauryn, since she makes me baby hun...I mean...since she is so dang cute!!! Thanks Mom and Dad for such a nice Thanksgiving Day!
And, just so we don't forget:
On Thanksgiving morning, Richard and I had the privilege of performing our Navarra duet at the Turkey Choir concert in the Rexburg Tabernacle. And, if that wasn't enough to get my nerves jumping, Thomas also performed a solo on his cello - Tarantella by Squire. Marybeth Jones was very sweet to accompany us. When the performances were over and we could finally relax and enjoy a beautiful Thanksgiving day after weeks of preparation, we came to realize what a great experience and opportunity this was for us. The audience was not small - certainly not your average "piano recital" audience. Once again, Thomas stepped up to the challenge and made us proud.
Side note:
It's exciting, but a little unnerving to watch my kids grow up and do such big things! I'm not sure what to think about it, nor do I know if I am ready for all of it. But, time doesn't seem to want to wait for me to be ready. It has an inexplicable way of flying by without my consent. I decided that time is a lot like your friends in grade school who can run faster than you. Racing to the playground you suddenly find yourself panicking. If they get too far ahead and you lose them, you may have to spend the entire recess playing alone! Desperately you scream, "WAIT UP!!!" And, that's what I have to say to time. "WAIT UP, DANG IT!!!
